Are you ready to shape the future of high-impact events through strategic business development? The Expo Group is seeking a Vice President, Business Development to lead revenue growth by identifying and securing $1M+ event opportunities. Based in [Location] (Hybrid or In-Office), this role is central to positioning The Expo Group as a trusted partner among associations, independent show organizers, and corporate event leaders.

In this role, you will:
  • Identify and target high-value events ($1M+) for customer acquisition across key sectors
  • Develop and execute tailored acquisition plans to drive new business
  • Represent The Expo Group at client and industry engagements to build relationships and secure partnerships
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution across the event lifecycle
  • Respond to RFPs and deliver custom proposals and capabilities presentations
  • Maintain detailed records in CRM systems to manage pipeline and performance
What You Bring to The Expo Group:
  • Educational Foundation: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred (equivalent experience accepted)
  • Experience: 10+ years in event business development, including 4+ years as an individual contributor or team leader
  • Credentials: Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems strongly preferred
  • Key Skills: Strategic sales mindset, strong negotiation abilities, excellent interpersonal communication, and deep knowledge of the trade show/events industry
