The Expo Group is seeking a trusted Assistant Controller to join our Financial Services team in Irving, Texas. The Assistant Controller manages the financial reporting activities of the Company and directs the daily activity of the Finance Department Staff. Areas of experience should include cost accounting, month-end close process, and managing relationships with banks and outside auditors. Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and accounting software applications such as; Solomon, FRX, Crystal Reports, FAS and ABRA

 

Our perfect candidate will work closely with the VP of Finance on the following…

  • Facilitates the monthly accounting cycle, including month and year-end closings, financial statement review, department overhead forecasts and variance analyses, department time allocations and corporate overhead allocations
  • Directs Accounts Payable process
  • Prepares all required federal/state/payroll tax returns
  • Work with CFO on Banking/CPA and Insurance broker relationships
  • Support Payroll Operations
  • Assists with other projects, as necessary
  • Oversees annual audits
  • Process 1099’s
  • Establishes and maintains daily accounting activities with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Handles all property and license renewals
  • Maintains the integrity of the accounting and financial systems
  • Directs the daily activity of the Accounting Department Staff
  • Facilitates employee expense reimbursement
  • Review and process all applications for credit.
  • Process vehicle registration and renewals.
  • Drive implementation of proper controls and procedures

 

This is what we need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5-8 years accounting experience, and;
  • 1+ years as an Assistant Controller
  • The following skills:

    • Judgment—the individual displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and makes timely decisions.
    • Planning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
    • Safety and security—the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.

 

We would love it if you have…

  • An MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Three years at the Controller level with a minimum of seven years total accounting experience.
  • Your CPA
